Our Little Actress

Kaitlyn's new favorite thing to do is put on shows. These shows can include plays, dancing, singing, or her own variety of gymnastics. She loves to do them for family and friends. So you can imagine her delight when her older cousins were at our house and put together the whole play of Rapunzel. They had sets and costumes. Her cousins even provided the narration. The play was so stinking cute and Kaitlyn had a great time.

Just Like Mom

If only I looked this good in my own stuff!

Wacky Wednesday and All About Me

In honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday Kaitlyn's preschool had wacky Wednesday. All of the children were supposed to dress up in some wacky attire. So backwards clothes and mismatched socks were the clothes chosen on that day.

You will notice that she also has 3 beautiful pony tails, one of which is wrapped in pink hair. Oh and yes those are Christmas trees in her hair. She would look cute in anything!

She also had to make an all about me poster. She picked the colors, where she wanted them, and what stuff she wanted on it. She also helped me put the whole poster together. She had so much fun while we made the poster. She chose to put pictures of her family and the cat and dog. She also put that her favorite foods are Mac and Cheese and toast with cinnamon and sugar. There is also a picture of Dora because Kaitlyn loves Dora the Explorer. The poster is topped off with some beautiful baby pics. It was a blast working on it with her and it now hangs on her bedroom wall.

Dancing Princess

My daughter loves to dance! She loves dressing up and dancing around. She really enjoys teaching her mom and dad how to dance. One day I am going to have to break down and put her in dance lessons.

We Love the Snow

Kaitlyn loves the snow. After the first few big snow storms she had to wait and wait for another one that was big enough for her to make more snow angels and build a snowman. She loves making snow angels so much that now there is no snow she makes grass angels. Not nearly as much fun.

Kaitlyn and I spent the whole morning making a snowman. Unfortunately her daddy wasn't home, so our snowman is a little short. She had so much fun and she put the scarf, eyes, mouth and nose on all by herself. I think he turned out fantastic!

Dancing With a Prince, Well Almost.

Kaitlyn and her friend Alex love to dance. Whenever the dancing starts the dresses have to go on. Now you might think this is mostly Kaitlyns doing, but you would be wrong. Alex calls the shoes that go with the dress his dancing shoes. He loves the way the dress spins and Kaitlyn loves having someone to dress up with. They have so much fun dancing around the living room.

The best little dancers around!

Awe aren't they cute!

On this particular day the dancing turned into watching the hail. They had a great time watching the hail bounce around on the ground. They sat there and watched for about 20 minutes.

OUCH!!!

This is what happens when you pick up a kitchen knife and go to put it in the dishwasher, sounds like a completely safe thing to do huh? Well this is what happens if while holding that knife you drop a pepper shaker and go to catch it as a reflex. You should always put the knife down before catching things. The result is 8 stitches in 2 fingers, one cut so deep that I sliced through about 2/3 of my tendon. I know I am supremely talented, everyone wishes they could be as awesome as me.

I had to have surgery to stitch my tendon back together. Surgery was followed by about 6 weeks of physical therapy, several follow up appointments, not to mention weeks in 3 different braces my pinky finally works again.

Her First New Bike

When it finally warmed up enough for her to go out and ride her bike we found that our Princess had grown so much over the winter that she was to big for her little bike. We went to Walmart and let her pick out a new bike. She had a blast riding all of the bikes up and down the aisles. Eventually she picked out this princess bike. It has to be the girliest bike I have ever seen. It has tassels in the handle bars, plastic hearts in the wheel spokes, and the pedals are actually shaped like flowers. It also has a bag on the front which she loves to fill with stuff. It also has an extremely cute bell that distracts Kaitlyn enough that she almost crashes every time that she rings it. This bike is perfect for her.

Dad getting the bike ready to ride.

Our first ride around the block. Her old bike would tip over when she turned so everytime we came to a corner she started panicking. Hopefully she gets over that fear fast. It is hard to always ride in a straight line.

Check out those cute hearts in the wheels and those pretty tassels!

That has to be the cheesiest grin I have ever seen. Got to love the cheese.

Kaitlyn is loving her new bike. Every time she has to put the bike away she cries. She likes it so much that she even went out and rode her bike in circles around the empty garage.
